What are Device Groups?
More often used for large locations that have multiple devices in multiple service areas, device groups limit the information/data tablets receive in order to speed up service. Each device can be assigned a group, and only information from tablets in that group will be synced.
Prior to version 2.10, you were able to set device groups to send orders to a specific device group and receive orders from a specific device group. The send/receive feature has been combined into one so that devices are always sending and receiving from the same device group.
Terminals in group A cannot see or make changes to orders made on terminals in group B.
Terminals in group B cannot see or make changes to orders made on terminals in group A.
Orders in different device groups will NOT be seen on other devices including in the following areas of Toast:
- Payment Terminal
- Previous Checks
- Ticket Display Screen
- Pending Orders
- Find Checks
