This is an introduction to the Shift Report which is a sub report for the Sales Summary.
This report shows you the shift that were completed from the POS. This does not show shifts that have not been closed. From this report you can see the employee, their clock in and out date/time, their declared cash tip, cash on hand, their non cash tips, and most importantly if their cash on hand was collected and if they were tipped out. If you use the show/hide column drop down menu there are other options you can select to see on the report.
This report is very useful if your expected deposit from the cash drawer report and total cash from the sales summary do not match. Your sales summary pull data from payments where as the cash drawer report pull data as to what is entered into the drawer. So you can have a scenario where a cash payment was taken for an order and was cash on hand. So the sale summary will see the cash and populate that towards your total cash. However if the server never does their shift review so the cash on hand is not collected then the drawer does not receive the cash on hand so it is with that that cash payment making a difference between the total cash and expected deposit.
Also from this report you can change if their collected cash and tips were done or not. You click on the check mark next to their name and you will have at the top the option to mark cash collected and tips paid. This does not however affect the cash drawer report only the shift report. You will still need to go back in to the cash drawer report and manually add in the cash collected and tips paid out. Here is an article about how to adjust the cash drawer report.
