Toast’s new Manager Log is a communication tool for restaurant management teams to track operations, personnel and customer issues.
Toast's Manager Log Book is a feature that will need to be enabled by a Toast Administrator first.

1. User Permissions:
Any team member that should have the ability to add and view entries must have the Log Book permission selected on the job level or user level.
If you’d like your managers to receive notes from the Log Book via email, add them to the manager’s list in your Contact Settings and make sure that it’s chosen from the Nightly Summary dropdown.
Using the Log Book:
Configure your log book categories in the Manager Log Setup under Other Setup. Categories are completely customizable to add and remove categories that best suit your business.
View and add entries to your log book by selecting Beta Manager Log under Manager Activities. To add entries, choose a category for your entry, then enter your notes in the field below.
To tag other managers or employees, use the @ symbol and choose a name from the buttons below. Tag a specific check by using the # symbol, then begin typing the check number. As you type, Toast will auto-populate your entry as it will appear to others below the text field.
For security, employee’s cannot edit another employee’s log entry, only delete their own.
