With Master Menu Management, three new fields will become evident through Toastweb. The fields and their meaning are as follows:
This is present mainly for technical reasons, and is used primarily in determining which items are versions of one another. It will depict the most restaurant-specific version of a Menu, Menu Group, Item, Printer, etc.
Some important things to note:
- Every new, unique object (Menu, Group, etc.) gets its own Number.
- This field is also present in many of the reports as Master_id. This means that: throughout Toastweb, Number and Master_id are synonymous.
- Versioning out an object does not change its Number.
As suggested, this field indicates the location (restaurant or group) where an object is targeted. If there is a specific version of a given object for a location, that location will only see their location-specific version.
As suggested, this field indicates the location (restaurant or group) that owns the given object. If there is a specific version of a given object for the location in question, users with appropriate permissions at the restaurant level will be able to edit the menu. (See this article for setting group-level permissions.)
The Master Menu Management changes are quite prolific, and these new fields are present throughout Toastweb, in the following areas:
In general, all sections under Menu are affected, and will display these fields in some fashion. Configuring of menus, menu groups and items is discussed in more detail here.
With the exception of the Menu reports, reporting remains largely unaffected. Within the Menu reports, the Master_id takes the place of Number.
With respect to Publish Config, one now has the ability to publish for selected restaurants within the group, should one only want to push changes to specific locations at a time.
Within this section, both Jobs and Employees are affected. A user with the appropriate permissions can add group-level jobs and employees. A user with the appropriate location-level permissions still retains the ability to edit jobs and employees at the affected location.
Both Receipt Setup and Rewards Program contain information regarding group-level versus location-level settings.
Within this section Courses, Prep Stations, Dining Options and Printers all contain information regarding group-level and location-level settings.
For more information on Printers and Prep Stations specifically, please refer to this article.
Within this section, the following sub-sections are affected: Other Payment Options, Discounts, Void Reasons, Service Charges and Tax Rates.
The following sub-sections are affected here: Sales Categories, Revenue Centers, Pay Out Reasons, GL Accounts and Restaurant Groups.
In particular, by drilling down into Restaurant Groups, one can see the organization of a given location within the hierarchy of the group.
