Users whose permissions allow them to access Cash Management can now lock themselves to a cash drawer without requiring a manager to assign them a drawer.
1. Navigate to your UI Options and scroll to Shift Review / Closeout settings. Make sure that Shift Review is set to Required - waitstaff is required to close all checks and declare cash tips before clocking out. This ensures that your staff is responsible for counting and closing the cash drawer that they are locked to prior to clocking out.
2. Under Cash Drawer Lockdown, select Required - anyone clocked into a CASHIER job will be required to lock the drawer. This means that the employee must be configured to be a cashier in their job role settings.
Once locked, only the account that was locked to the drawer will be able to access the drawer that's assigned. These cash drawer assignments will only expire once you close out the drawer at the end of your shift.
To lock a Drawer, from Cash Management, tap the lock icon next to the Drawer Name:
Select to Lock and then Go on this window to lock the drawer to yourself:
The employee simply locks the drawer to themselves at the beginning of their shift and cannot access anyone else's drawer besides their own. Then close out their drawer as a part of their shift review.
