Toast POS can be configured to send on-screen notifications of fulfilled orders from your Kitchen Display Screen (KDS) to the server who placed the order on whichever Toast device they are using during service.
In order to accomplish this you will need to make changes to the back end and on the tablet what will act as your KDS.
1. To start you will need to sign-in at Toasttab.com and go to the "Notication setup"
From this page, ensure that "Fulfilled Tickets (alerts person who placed the order)" is checked. Save the page, if it was unchecked at first.
This feature requires your kitchen orders be sent to an Expediter screen. From the backend, ensure that your Prep Stations are enabled to "Send to Expediter". Save page, if needed.
Now that we have finished the backend settings, we'll need to make sure that tablet settings are correct.
Go to the options screen and select "Device Setup"
Ensure that Primary Mode is set to "Kitchen Display Screen" and that Kitchen Expediter setting is set to Yes.
This will complete all the ground work to make it so that when orders are fulfilled it will send a notification back to the server who sent the order in to the kitchen. So from your POS you will need to send an order in to kitchen. Then on the KDS you will need to highlight the order and then click "Fulfill" located in the top right of your screen.
This is send a notification to the sever that the order they sent in has been fulfilled and is ready to be taken to the customers table.
It is to be noted that the server will need to be signed into a tablet in order to received the notification.
