Some Toast users may configure online ordering so that some or all new Online Orders must be manually approved in the app before they are sent to the kitchen.
Toast v1.12 makes this even simpler by activating pop-up notifications to be sent directly to the app when new orders are received so that the staff is aware when an order may need to be approved!
To approve an Online Order the user must have Access Permission for Pending Orders. This mode of Toast is where Online Orders needing approval are stored. This is also the mode of Toast that hold orders that are scheduled for the future.
1. An online order is received and a notification appears in the app. Tap the order to be taken directly to the order to view the details.
If this order needs approval, navigate to the Pending Orders section of Toast from the Main Menu.
The order will be listed under the Needs Approval section. The option to approve is in the top right corner.
Once approved, the order will be moved to the Payment Terminal.
If Cash was selected as payment type, the order will appear in Open Checks.
If Credit Card was selected as payment type with TIP, the order will appear under Paid Checks for the tip to be added and check be closed later.
If Credit Card was selected as payment type without TIP, the order will move directly to Closed Checks.
