With the release of Toast POS v 1.12 - many new and exciting features have been included which should help enhance many experiences using the system.
While new features are great, the Toast POS app and website you're comfortable with has changed some too. Some things have moved or been re-organized to also spruce up the look and feel of Toast.
Here's an overview of some of these changes:
Changing modifiers on a previously ordered item is now faster, tapping on an item takes you directly to the modifiers screen.
In 1.12 we have remove a step in editing the modifiers of an item once it is ordered. In previous versions, if an item was selected, the user would need to select Edit Modifiers before seeing the modifier options within the item to alter them:
Now in v 1.12 - this step is removed and select an ordered item will immediately force the modifier options to show:
Suggested tip amounts are now shown on credit card receipts

To reduce distraction, in offline mode the red or yellow bar is now smaller
In previous versions of Toast when connectivity lapsed or was lost by the device the bar across the top of the device screen would have a large Amber or Red bar to alert the user.
While it is important to know when a device is not online, in many cases these events are not cause for severe alarm as they may resolve themselves quite quickly. In order to reduce distraction, in 1.12 we have made these bars smaller and added notices that appear at the bottom of the screen to alert the user when OFFLINE MODE is entered.
No Wifi or Ethernet:
Void Items buttons have been moved, but will be returning back to a more similar position.
In previous versions of Toast, to Void a selected item, a RED Remove button appeared on the screen.
To reduce confusion in 1.12, we have renamed this button Void
Seat numbers are now shown on payment screen and receipts for split checks, as well as on the printed checks.
