You can assign a cash drawer to a server, so that they are the only ones who can access it.
Giving permissions to use Cash Drawer Lock Down Set up:
There are no permissions to set up cash drawer lockdown. Anyone who has the POS Setup Permission can log into a device and set up the cash drawer access for each server. (Note: There are are a lot of important permissions that are also tied in POS Setup, such as..)
Setting up the Tablets:
From the main menu of the Toast App, scroll down to Device set up.
Look for the option that is called Cash Drawer Lock Down. Tap on it.
When you do, you will be asked whether or not you want to enable cash drawer lock down. Tap “ON”.
When you do, you will see a list of all of your employees. Tap the drop down menu next to their name to see a list of cash drawers.
Tap on the cash drawer that you want to assign them to. No one else will be able to access that cash drawer, in fact the system will act as if this cash drawer does not exist.
So even if the cash drawer is assigned to that terminal (also from device set up) the system will not automatically open up the drawer, and it will automatically be added to their cash on hand, rather than the drawer balance.
