How do I assign auto-gratuity charges to different service areas?
To assign auto-gratuity to specific service areas, navigate to Service Areas under the Kitchen / Dining Room section.
Here you can add new service areas or edit existing. In this example, we're going to edit the Dining Room service area by selecting it.
Under the Auto-Applied Gratuity section, you can select one of your existing Service Charges to apply to tables in the Dining Area. Then, configure the minimum number of guests at the table required for auto-gratuity to be added to the check. Be sure to save and publish your changes.
In this example, if a table is sat with 6 or more people, 18% will be automatically applied to the table's check.
How do I add auto-gratuity to a table or check?
Depending on your restaurant's policy, there may be times when adding an automatic gratuity to a table is required. As a server, you may or may not have been granted permission to add the gratuity to the table yourself. If you have permission to do so, the steps below will teach you how to add the fee manually from inside the check. If you do not, the steps below will still be possible, but your manager's override will be required to complete the process.
From inside the check, select SVC CHARGE.
A list of of created service charges will appear. Only one service charge can be added to a check. Select the appropriate charge, then select Ok.
The chosen service charge will be added to the check and can be seen on the payment screen.
