Menus generally map to the physical menus a restaurant might have. For example, Lunch Menu, Dinner Menu, Cocktails Menu, Dessert Menu, Full Bar Menu, etc.
A menu contains one or more menu Groups. In a dinner menu, this might be Appetizers, Salads, Entrees, etc.
A Group contains menu Items, which is what the customer ultimately orders.
In the Toast POS app, Menus show up in the first row, Groups in the second (and third) row, and Items are displayed below that.
The system will try to be intelligent about how it displays the Groups and Items.
For instance, if you have a Menu with only 1 Group, the Groups row will disappear completely, leaving as much room as possible for the Items.
Alternatively, if there are more Groups than fit in 2 rows, the Items don’t show up at all until the user taps on a Group.
