When first logging into the app, you must enter a user email and password. Each employee can obtain a login using their own email address and create their own password. Any employee with a username can log into Toast, but permissions determine what aspects of the system users are able to access.
After successfully logging into Toast, the user will see the screen to enter a passcode or swipe their card. The numerical passcode is unique to each user and listed in their employee profile online. The passcode will provide the user the permission access level they have been assigned by the manager.
For example, if the passcode is for a Chef, he/she may have access to view the Kitchen Display Screen (KDS) and no access to the menu for placing orders because it is not part of their role.
Any employee with a passcode can key in their number at this screen regardless of what email and password was used to login to the app (previous screen).
Note that in the bottom right corner there is a button for Time Clock. Refer to our Time Clock article for more information on using this feature of Toast.
