How do credit card payments work in offline mode?
Settings for processing credit cards in offline mode
To access offline backend settings, navigate to Payment Options under the Payments section. Scroll down to Background Processing of Transactions under the Credit section. Offline Mode is a payment related issue. There are 3 settings here that allow you to have greater control over CC processing in your restaurant:
Yes, Fast Processing - Credit card transactions will ALWAYS be processed in the background for faster customer service. This is helpful for high volume QSRs who are looking to move the line faster and are willing to accept the small amount of credit card liability.
Yes, Offline Mode (recommended) - We strongly recommend you choose this setting. You can accept credit card payments when a connection is unavailable. Transactions will be queued up and processed in the background after the device comes back online.
No, Never - All credit card transactions will be processed in real time. This means you would NOT be able to accept credit card payments when a connection is unavailable, which may hinder your operations during offline.
Transaction Limit When Offline: This allows you to set a limit for credit card transactions taken while offline. The limit does not include tips.
