The No Sale function opens the cash drawer without the occurrence of a cash transaction. It is often used to make change for customers or count cash at any given time. When a user opens a cash drawer using the No Sale function, it it logged in the Sales Exception Report for tracking and auditing.
Similar to Void Reasons, No Sale Reasons can be created so that each No Sale transaction will require the user to choose a reason from a prompt. In the Sales Exception Report, No Sales can be viewed by reason, by user, by approving manager, or as an overall summary.
If configured in UI Options, a summary of No Sale transactions can be shown on the Closed Cash Drawer Report.
To use this feature, No Sale Reasons must be created. Navigate to No Sale Reasons in the Payments section of Toast's back-end. Add any appropriate No Sale Reasons, enter a description, and save your changes.
To view No Sale transactions reports, navigate to Sales Exceptions under the Sales section of Toast's back-end. These transactions can be viewed under the No Sale tab.
All No Sale Transactions can be sorted by Date, Server, Approver, Reason, by Cash Drawer, or by No Sale ID. This Report can be exported as a .CSV file.
On the Device:
Any user that has the No Sale permission enabled will be able to open a cash drawer and choose a no sale reason.
