In Toast 2.12, there’s a new chart in the sales summary report that pulls expected closeout cash, actual closeout cash, overage/shortage, and expected deposit into the report. Now, these important metrics are in one easy place and can be exported with the rest of the data in the sales summary report.
Expected Closeout Cash: Theoretical amount of cash you should have after Toast has monitored all transactions for the day. Sometimes this number is off due to mistakes.
Actual Closeout Cash: This number is manually entered after closing out for the day.
Overage/Shortage: This number will show if there was a discrepancy and how big it is.
Expected Deposit: The overall number the manager is supposed to be bringing to the bank. Compare this number to what is actually in the bank bag. It's based off of actual closeout cash. \
Note: These fields will be blank if the user does not interact with the Cash Drawers portion of the application to close out cash drawers during the course of the day:
No Drawers Closed
